The Department of Pathology at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Tikrit, was established in 2006 alongside the founding of the college. The department focuses on veterinary pathology from both theoretical and practical perspectives, addressing various pathological changes that occur in animals, including diseases that may be transmitted to humans. It teaches the fundamental concepts of pathology to third-year students, poultry diseases to fourth-year students, and fish diseases, pathological anatomy, forensic medicine, and professional ethics to fifth-year students. Initially, the department’s staff consisted of a head, a rapporteur, and an assistant. Over time, the faculty expanded, and by 2011 it included six lecturers with Master’s degrees in Pathology, Poultry Diseases, and Fish Diseases, in addition to two technical staff members.
