The Continuing Education Unit was established in the College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. The unit aims to develop the educational process and raise the performance efficiency of lecturers and graduates of veterinary colleges working in various government departments, especially those working in the departments of Salah al-Din Governorate. The unit holds scientific courses in various specialties of the veterinary profession, through which new scientific information is transferred to participants in these training courses, as well as informing them of new developments in modern scientific equipment. The unit also prepares for summer training for third and fourth year students.

The unit prepares the curriculum books prescribed by the college and the sectoral committee of the Iraqi colleges of veterinary medicine and distributes them to students at all levels at the beginning of each year. Records are opened with the names of students for the purpose of preparing and signing them for the subjects prescribed for each level. After the end of the academic year, students return the books they owe to the unit in full, provided that they are updated from time to time.
