Branch of Public Health

The Department of Public Health was established in 2006. It focuses on animal management, computer applications, poultry management, nutrition, genetics, biostatistics, and veterinary public health. The department also contributes to community service by providing consultations in all aspects of animal production, as well as in slaughterhouses for large animals and poultry. Its faculty members work in collaboration with other departments to teach and train students, ensuring they are qualified to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery. The department strives to align with international standards and to achieve leadership in veterinary education and research, with the goal of ensuring animal health, developing livestock resources, and promoting a cleaner environment. The Department of Public Health is staffed by a number of faculty members specialized in these fields.
To position the College of Veterinary Medicine – University of Tikrit among the leading veterinary colleges in the Arab world and globally, particularly in the fields of veterinary education, scientific research, animal health assurance, and the realization of the One Health concept.
