College Achievements

Establishment of Four Postgraduate Systems

Supporting Scientific Research and Facilitating Academic Promotion Procedures while Preserving Their Integrity, Transforming the College into an Attractive Institution, and Ensuring the Optimal Investment of Human Resources

Establishment of a Scientific Journal and Efforts to Ensure Its Succes

This journal, Tikrit Journal of Veterinary Sciences, is supported by the availability of qualified personnel and the college’s encouragement of research submissions (with free publication for the first two issues). Researchers are invited to contribute, and publication fees are reduced for students.

Urban and Specialized Development

Through the construction of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital building, the creation of four classrooms, and modifications to the college buildings, resulting in optimal use of the building. The construction also included the construction of three classrooms, four specialized laboratories, a seminar and discussion hall, and the commencement of the reconstruction of two college buildings. This is to support the university presidency and expand the number of graduate students.

Supporting the college's revenues and transforming it into a productive college

By establishing a production animal house unit for laboratory animals, a sheep and cow breeding field, and opening a veterinary consulting office to address the significant shortfall in financial allocations. The college also provides an investable building, low-wage labor, and production requirements such as feed and other inputs.

Openness to organizations

By supporting the establishment of a tissue culture laboratory and communicating with supporting organizations to facilitate procedures with them and create a broad range of trust between the college and the organization.

Self-sufficiency in financing the college's production units

by cultivating 50 dunums of wheat and barley crops and establishing a medium-capacity feed mill (crushing, grinding, and pressing) due to the high market prices of feed and the availability of agricultural land and labor supported by the college.

Community Service

We hold 16 free campaigns annually, including animal diagnosis and treatment, in the villages and rural areas surrounding the university as part of student training and education. This is due to the large number of students living in these villages, the presence of specialized staff at the college, the low cost of these campaigns, and the fact that they provide recreational opportunities for students.

Towards Scientific Graduation Research

Transforming all student graduation research from theoretical to practical, resulting in student graduation research winning 1st, 3rd, and 4th place over the past three years at the Iraqi Veterinary Medicine Colleges' Graduation Research Conferences, and 1st, 1st, and 2nd place at the university level. This is achieved by providing full support for research, supporting the college's policy, and the directions of the Scientific Committee.

Automating college priorities

This includes all employee and faculty files, graduate and undergraduate student files, student grades, academic promotion priorities, and more, using Master Sheet and Examination Committee software. This was achieved after the damage to files following the ISIS attacks, by providing rapid archiving equipment and efficient human resources.

Practical steps towards meeting students' educational needs digitally

By uploading all textbooks, lectures, and previous year's questions online, this stems from the college's belief in the necessity of making knowledge accessible in the easiest ways.

Towards Intensive Continuing Education

We hold approximately 60 courses, seminars, and workshops annually, and support postgraduate education. We provide full support and facilities for these activities, including academic promotions and annual student evaluations.

Serving state institutions

Through the establishment of an outpatient clinic unit, its work includes treating approximately 40 cases annually for the police K9 department and training senior students.

Developing students' extracurricular skills

By supporting the construction of structures, taxidermy, and educational tools from student productions, and by organizing sports and artistic activities to reflect students' need for these activities and provide moral and material support.

New study systems and personalized learning for students and faculty

Through the use of simulations, models, and smart labs, a more realistic assessment method such as OSCIE, feedback, questionnaires, and electronic surveys for all college activities is being implemented in accordance with the global trend of being more realistic, enhancing the college's sense of credibility.
