The College of Veterinary Medicine Holds a Seminar Entitled: “Drugs: Between Science and Choice”

 Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Tikrit, and in cooperation with the Center for Continuing Education, the college organized a scientific seminar titled “Drugs: Between Science and Choice” as part of the World Drug Awareness Week. The seminar was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Najwa Imad Suleiman and Assistant Lecturer Abdullah Ismail Khalaf.

The seminar addressed several important scientific and educational themes, including:

  • The effects of drugs on the nervous system and the brain, and the mechanisms of addiction.

  • The long-term physical and psychological harm caused by drug use.

  • An overview of the latest scientific developments in addiction treatment and rehabilitation.

The seminar was held in the college’s seminar hall and was attended by members of the academic and administrative staff, who emphasized the importance of such activities in raising awareness, promoting health education, warning students about the dangers of addiction, and enhancing preventive measures.

This seminar comes as part of the college’s efforts to support national and international initiatives aimed at combating drugs, protecting the university community, and promoting a sustainable culture of health among students and the wider society.
