College of Veterinary Medicine Holds an Awareness Seminar on the Social and Medical Dimensions of Narcotic Substances

 As part of the activities of the International Week for Combating Drugs, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Tikrit, in cooperation with the Center for Continuing Education, organized an awareness seminar titled:
“The Social and Medical Dimensions of Narcotic Substances.”

The seminar was delivered by:

  • Prof. Dr. Siham Ajmi Wadi

  • Assist. Prof. Dr. Reem Suhail Najm

  • Assist. Lecturer Abdullah Ismail Khalaf

The seminar addressed the social and medical dimensions of narcotic substances, providing a comprehensive explanation of their nature, origins, composition, and the serious effects they pose on individuals and society. It also highlighted their health, psychological, and behavioral impacts, in addition to discussing methods of prevention to avoid falling into the cycle of addiction.

The seminar was held in Dr. Muhannad Maher Hall and witnessed the attendance of faculty and administrative staff, along with significant student engagement, reflecting the importance of such topics in enhancing community awareness and protecting young people from the dangers of drug abuse.
