The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Tikrit, in cooperation with the Center for Continuing Education, organized a scientific workshop titled:
“Special Stains and Their Importance in Enhancing Accurate Histopathological Diagnosis.”
The workshop was delivered by Asst. Prof. Uday Alawi Jassim and Asst. Prof. Firas Abbas Hussain.
Held in the animal house laboratories, the workshop focused on introducing special histological stains and their vital role in detecting subtle cellular and tissue alterations that cannot be identified using conventional stains. This contributes significantly to improving diagnostic accuracy and distinguishing complex pathological conditions.
The workshop also included an overview of the most important types of special stains used in histological studies, guidelines for selecting the appropriate stain for each case, as well as practical applications in which participants engaged directly inside the laboratory.
The event witnessed the attendance of several faculty members, technicians, and students, who showed great interaction with the presented topics and emphasized the importance of these skills in supporting diagnostic and research work within academic and veterinary institutions.
This workshop comes as part of the series of scientific activities conducted by the college to enhance advanced skills in anatomy and histology among students and researchers.
