The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Tikrit organized a practical lecture for first-year students entitled “Egg Examination and Grading”, delivered by Dr. Omar Issam and Dr. Ali Qais, as part of the practical courses designed to enhance students’ applied understanding within the Poultry Management curriculum.
The lecture reviewed the scientific principles of egg examination and grading according to recognized standards. Students were introduced to various methods of assessing egg quality, including visual inspection and candling, in addition to classification criteria based on weight, size, and external integrity. The session also highlighted the factors influencing egg quality and their significance in animal production and the food industry.
This lecture is part of a series of practical lessons offered by the college, aimed at equipping students with essential hands-on skills that strengthen their academic knowledge and connect it with field applications in veterinary medicine and animal production.
