The College of Veterinary Medicine at Tikrit University continues to provide veterinary services to the community as part of its academic and humanitarian mission.
In this context, the Outpatient Clinic Unit received a case involving a ewe that had suffered a dog bite in the udder region, resulting in severe tissue damage and a deterioration in the animal’s health condition.
The specialized veterinary team promptly conducted the necessary examinations, after which the decision was made to perform an emergency surgical intervention involving the removal of the severely damaged udder, with the aim of saving the animal and preventing serious complications.
The operation was successfully completed, followed by continuous monitoring of the case and the provision of appropriate guidance to the animal’s owner to ensure proper recovery.
The College reaffirms its commitment to delivering veterinary and therapeutic services and receiving various clinical cases, thereby strengthening its role in supporting livestock resources and serving the community.
