As part of efforts to enhance cultural and artistic presence within the university environment, and through an initiative by the Women’s Affairs Division at the Presidency of the University of Tikrit—in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Veterinary Medicine—a distinctive symbolic artwork was created and displayed. The artwork was installed in the University Presidency building to serve as a permanent landmark expressing national identity and academic belonging.
The artwork was designed and painted by Professor Dr. Omaima Ibrahim Mahmood, a faculty member at the College of Veterinary Medicine. Through this creative work, she presented a profound artistic vision depicting Iraq crowned with symbols of science and knowledge, clearly reflecting the university’s pivotal role in carrying the message of enlightenment and human development, in line with the slogan “The University of All Iraqis.”
This artwork comes as a symbolic gift from the Women’s Affairs Division at the University Presidency, in appreciation of the scientific and national stature of the University of Tikrit, and as a reflection of the role of academic women in cultural and artistic creativity, alongside their active contribution to scientific and educational fields.
The Women’s Affairs Division commended this distinguished effort, praising the creativity of Dr. Omaima Ibrahim Mahmood, and reaffirming its continued support for cultural and artistic activities, as well as its commitment to backing initiatives that highlight the potential of academic women and contribute to enhancing aesthetic appreciation and institutional identity within the university.
