College of Veterinary Medicine Holds a Scientific Workshop on Dermatophyte Infections and Their Treatment

 The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Tikrit, in cooperation with the Center for Continuing Education, organized a scientific workshop titled:
“Dermatophyte Infections and Their Treatment.”
The workshop was delivered by Asst. Lecturer Haneen Bahjat Omar and Asst. Lecturer Najwa Imad Suleiman.

The workshop addressed a set of important scientific topics, most notably:

  • Types of dermatophyte fungi that infect humans and animals.

  • Mechanisms of transmission from animals to humans and the ways these infections spread within the surrounding environment.

  • Clinical symptoms and accurate laboratory diagnosis of dermatophyte infections.

  • Modern medical and veterinary treatment methods, with a focus on effective therapeutic approaches.

  • Preventive measures and strategies to reduce the spread of these infections within communities and animal environments.

The workshop was attended by several faculty members and postgraduate students and was held in the college’s seminar hall, featuring active scientific engagement and discussions that enriched the presented topics.

This activity comes as part of the college’s efforts to promote health awareness and develop the skills of faculty and students in dealing with dermatological diseases of mutual relevance to both human and veterinary medicine
