College of Veterinary Medicine Provides Veterinary Service to Livestock Owners

As part of its community service activities for livestock owners in the province, the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Tikrit received a clinical case in the outpatient unit involving a calf suffering from a congenital hernia, which was promptly attended to by the specialized medical team.

Following a clinical examination and diagnosis, it was determined that the most appropriate solution was to perform a surgical operation to repair the hernia. The procedure was successfully carried out by:

  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Saddam Khalid Hammadi

  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Hiba Abdulazeez Sheikho

The surgery was conducted with the participation of final-year students as part of the practical training program aimed at enhancing their clinical skills and providing them with hands-on experience in managing real veterinary cases.

This service comes as part of the college’s ongoing efforts to support livestock owners and provide veterinary and educational services that benefit the community and contribute to advancing the livestock sector in the region
