A Ministerial Committee Visits the College of Veterinary Medicine to Evaluate the Establishment of a Master’s Program in Veterinary Surgery

 The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Tikrit welcomed a ministerial committee from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to review the proposal for establishing a Master’s program in Veterinary Surgery, after the college successfully fulfilled all academic, research, and logistical requirements for its initiation.

The committee was received by the Dean of the College, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, the Director of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division, in addition to the Head and Rapporteur of the Department of Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Obstetrics.

During the visit, the committee conducted a comprehensive field tour that included the lecture halls, animal house, and the laboratories of surgery, radiology, and pathological diagnostics, where they examined the available facilities and infrastructure supporting the proposed program. The committee also reviewed the research projects of undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as the practical and training services offered to students.

The tour further included a visit to the sheep breeding farm, the feed processing unit, and the biological incinerator to assess their readiness to support the practical and research components of the specialization.

The ministerial committee expressed its appreciation for the high level of organization, integration, and advanced infrastructure available at the college, affirming that these efforts reflect a strong commitment to developing academic programs and postgraduate studies.

At the conclusion of the visit, the committee extended its wishes for the continued success and progress of the college, while the college administration expressed its gratitude and appreciation to the committee members for their efforts and constructive remarks.
