College of Veterinary Medicine Holds an Awareness Seminar as Part of Global Entrepreneurship Week Activities

 As part of the activities of Global Entrepreneurship Week, and under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, President of Tikrit University, the College of Veterinary Medicine organized an educational scientific seminar entitled “Successful Veterinarians”, within its efforts to promote an entrepreneurial culture and support students and graduates in building successful career paths.

The seminar hosted Dr. Nassar Abdul-Rabbu Sakkaran, Head of the Veterinary Syndicate in Salah Al-Din Governorate, who delivered a lecture addressing the reality of the veterinary profession in Iraq in general and in Salah Al-Din in particular. He highlighted successful professional experiences and real-life models of veterinarians who have achieved excellence and leadership in their fields.

The seminar discussed several important themes, most notably:

  • The importance of developing practical and professional skills alongside academic achievement.

  • The role of entrepreneurship and private projects in creating job opportunities for veterinarians.

  • Promising fields of work for veterinarians in Iraq, particularly in livestock, public health, and food security.

  • The challenges facing veterinarians and ways to overcome them through innovation and sound career planning.

  • The importance of engaging in training courses and continuous professional development to keep pace with scientific advancements.

  • The role of the Veterinary Syndicate in supporting graduates and regulating professional practice.

The seminar witnessed wide interaction from faculty members and students, with numerous questions and contributions that enriched the discussion. Participants emphasized the importance of such events in guiding students and graduates toward a successful professional future that contributes to serving society and supporting sustainable development.
