Awareness Campaign on Animal Rights in Islam at the College of Veterinary Medicine

The Student Activities Unit and the Cultural Activities Unit at the College of Veterinary Medicine organized an educational awareness campaign on animal rights in Islam, as part of the college’s efforts to promote ethical and humanitarian awareness among students and to deepen their understanding of religious values related to kindness toward animals.

The campaign was carried out by:

  • Veterinarian Musa Dakheel Bahr – Head of the Student Activities Unit

  • Mr. Firas Ouda Kshish – Head of the Cultural Activities Unit

The team distributed informative brochures that explained the key rights guaranteed to animals in Islam, highlighting Quranic verses that call for mercy and compassion, as well as prophetic traditions that encourage refraining from harming animals, treating them kindly, and ensuring their proper care.

This campaign aligns with the college’s mission to promote veterinary and humanitarian awareness, and to instill a culture of responsible interaction with animals, reflecting the noble ethical values of the Islamic faith.
