As part of the University of Tikrit’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the principles of integrity and transparency, the College of Veterinary Medicine participated in a scientific workshop titled “The Role of Education in Promoting Integrity and Combating Corruption.”

The workshop was attended by Prof. Dr. Bashar Sadiq Noomi, Dean of the College, Asst. Prof. Dr. Muntasir Mohammed Hilal, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Osama Hamid Shihab, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, along with several heads of scientific departments and members of the academic and administrative staff.

Speakers at the workshop addressed several key themes emphasizing the vital role educational institutions play in fostering values of integrity, promoting a culture of transparency among faculty and students, and raising public awareness about the dangers of corruption and its negative impact on development. The discussions also highlighted the importance of enhancing anti-corruption culture across all sectors of the state, ensuring serious and responsible handling of suspected corruption cases, and enforcing strict legal measures against those involved—thereby promoting a fair working environment and reinforcing public trust in state institutions.

Participants affirmed that disseminating these values is a fundamental step toward building a conscious generation aware of its rights and responsibilities—capable of protecting public funds, safeguarding community assets, and contributing to a future grounded in integrity and justice.
