Senior students at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Tikrit, continue their participation in practical sessions under the supervision of course instructors, as part of the approved practical veterinary training curriculum for the fourth and fifth stages. The program aims to enhance students’ skills and bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
This week’s practical training included advanced surgical applications, where students practiced internal and external surgical suturing techniques on small animals under the supervision of the college’s surgical medical staff, within a realistic and interactive training environment that simulates actual veterinary practice.
The training also covered pregnancy examination in ewes using both manual methods and ultrasound devices, based on the flock of ewes raised in the college’s animal house, allowing students to gain direct field experience in handling real-life veterinary cases.
Additionally, the staff of the Departments of Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Obstetrics supervised student training in fetal examination in cattle, as part of the college’s continuous efforts to equip students with the necessary field expertise to prepare a generation of competent veterinary doctors capable of serving the community and the veterinary sector with professionalism and excellence.
